Google Desktop Issue

pjmcswee
I'm trying to cluster some documents using Google Documents.  I am running on a earlier macbook with intel core-set.  I have gotten the correct URL out of preferences.

When I try to run a query I get either connection reset error or 127.0.0.1 timeout.

I have gone to the system logs and have seen the query that is sent out and see that GoogleDesktopAge:
GoogleDesktopAge[149] Failed connection attempt from UID=0, PID=8764180

However when I copy the same "GET" statement into Google Chrome I  see the correct output in the browser (seemingly).

Any advise is appreciated :)
~patrick

Re: Google Desktop Issue

Hi,

Apologies for a belated answer. Google Desktop tends to be tricky to query from a non-browser. Would you be able to try the URL that worked for you in a browser using e.g. wget? I'm curious what the result would be in that case.

Hi there,

I have that problem too. I tried with wget with Google Desktop's Query URL and these are the results:

wget "http://127.0.0.1:12802/search&s=eg37PnNb6BqKaL6wiaue4HAmGxx"
--2010-03-12 19:38:54--  http://127.0.0.1:12802/search&s=eg37PnNb6BqKaL6wiaue4HAmGxx
Connecting to 127.0.0.1:12802... connected.
HTTP request sent, awaiting response... 505 HTTP Version not supported
2010-03-12 19:38:54 ERROR 505: HTTP Version not supported.

Thanks in advance
