[JIRA][Carrot2] Created: (CARROT-555) Replace explicit Log4J references with SLF4J facade.

Dawid Weiss-2
Replace explicit Log4J references with SLF4J facade.
----------------------------------------------------

                 Key: CARROT-555
                 URL: http://issues.carrot2.org/browse/CARROT-555
             Project: Carrot2
          Issue Type: Improvement
          Components: Build infrastructure, Framework Core
            Reporter: Dawid Weiss
            Assignee: Dawid Weiss
            Priority: Trivial
             Fix For: 3.1.0

SLF4J is a convenient logging facade redirecting to many common logging systems (and providing NULL-loggers). I see switching to it as a benefit for the future, so if there are no objections I'd even plug it in for release 3.1.0 (with Log4J as the default sink for all the apps, just as it was previously).

[JIRA][Carrot2] Commented: (CARROT-555) Replace explicit Log4J references with SLF4J facade.

Makes sense! I'm assuming the consequence of this is that the user can remove the log4j JAR and the applications will still work?

Dawid Weiss commented on CARROT-555:
------------------------------------

There are many JARs that SLF4J "recognizes". The user probably can remove Log4J, but then he would have to add an empty SLF4J sink (a JAR on its own). Unless SLF4J can detect missing Log4J, I don't know this. The upside is: you have a choice and the configuration is relatively easy.

Boldness of character on search.

bhaskar_sekar
Hi,

I have setup carrot in my system and is pointing to my system.I am using Solr.
When i give search for a character it displays me all the records and links corresponding to it.

It displays me only 100 records for a given search.
Moreover the boldness of the character are not appearing in the text of the search.

Whatever i give search that shld be bolded in the text area.
For this shld i use

LingoClusteringAlgorithm class file should be included to achieve the same?.

Assume the search shows 100 out of about 120000.

For the above search to achieve in my system what class should be included or what shld be modified to achieve the same?.

Regards
Bhaskar
